Forensic
Interviews:
JACY House
staff is part of a multi-disciplinary team, composed of Department
of Children Services, law enforcement and prosecutors. When a child
comes to JACY House, the team gathers so that the agencies involved
can observe the child’s interview from another room and ask
questions through the interviewer. The child talks only to the
trainer interviewer instead of three or more people. This process
provides evidence so that investigation and prosecution can be done
to remove child perpetrators from society.
Safety Education:
JACY House
offers to the schools, a body safety program entitled, “Good
Touch/Bad Touch®”. It is comprehensive three day program that
teaches children body safety rules. Children learn how they can
protect themselves from people who want to hurt them.
Parent Support:
When a child
discloses sexual abuse, a long and somewhat terrifying journey
begins for not only the child but also the parents/guardians.
Non-offending parents/guardians do not know what to do or who to
turn to. “You Are Not Alone” is a peer support group that provides
information and support from other families that are going through
the same crisis.
