JACY House provides a safe, child-friendly, neutral place for children who need to be interviewed when there have been allegations of abuse. JACY House uses the ChildFirst™ protocol, which is a multi-disciplinary team approach where members from investigation, prosecution, mental health and medical communities collaborate in the best interest of the child and family.
Our Child & Family Advocates lead an 8 week support group for caregivers of children who have been sexually abused. Your child does not have to be interviewed at JACY House for you to participate. Group sessions are offered periodically throughout the year, so just call and ask to speak with an advocate if you are interested in participating or want more information.
Child and Family Advocates at JACY House are present to offer support to the child's family during the majority of forensic interviews. Advocates can provide referrals for mental health services, medical evaluations, and other resources upon request. Advocates are available to assist the family with safety planning, accessing needed resources, understanding the investigative process, and helping guide the family through the court system as needed.
JACY House offers the ChildHelp Speak Up Be Safe child abuse prevention program to all Elementary Schools, Junior High Schools, and High Schools in Wayne and Union counties. JACY House now provides the program to 3rd grade students in Fayette County as well.
JACY House also provides the Darkness to Light Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention program to adult community members in Wayne and surrounding counties.
